We invite you to discover the art of blending whiskies in the Garden Room on Thursday 7th November, courtesy of Chivas Regal.
Experts will show you how they marry together single malts and lighter grain whiskies from different parts of Scotland to create the ultimate whisky blend.
You will be working with five fine malts from Speyside, Islay, the Highlands, and Lowlands, sampling the incredible melody of flavours and blending them to create your own unique whisky.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we have some enticing ways to help raise awareness of it while also supporting a very worthy cause.

We are very proud to announce that the Blue Boar has signed a three year agreement as main sponsor of Witney Rugby Club.
The new collaboration sees the introduction of the ‘Blue Boar Man of the Match’ for each home game with the winner being awarded a meal for two, as well as our lovely logo emblazoned on the playing shirts of the 1st and 2nd teams and the Minis and Juniors training kit. Club Chairman, Danny Crump, who negotiated the deal, said: “The Blue Boar’s commitment to a three year deal is very important to the club and we are very grateful for their support.”

We'll be showcasing a range of local Wychwood Brewery real ales, a selection of tasting ales, a hog roast and some great live music acts including Nikki Loy and Thom Kirkpatrick, for the perfect chilled bank holiday weekend vibe.
Taking place in our courtyard area, the beer festival will be kicking off at 3pm and will go right into the evening - your bank holiday weekend sorted.

Get your child's creative juices flowing! We are running an exciting opportunity for children aged up to 12 years of age to design a dish for our new children's menu.
We are putting our faith in local children's hands and giving them the opportunity to tell us what they'd like to see on our children's menu.
A winner will be selected based on the following criteria:
Good use of healthy ingredients
Originality and creativity
Something our chefs will be able to recreate
The winning dish will be put on our new children's menu and the child's class at school will also win either £100 of book vouchers or £100 of sports equipment vouchers.

The Blue Boar is launching its very own brand new quiz night on 18th July, so it's time to garner all available knowledge and put it to good use!
All you will need is a team of six brainy people to try your chances at winning prizes, including our 'million dollar question' which is worth a £100 bar tab. If nobody answers the question correctly, the money is rolled over to the next month. If it rolls over twice the cash will be donated to the Blue Cross.
Googling of answers will be taken as a serious offence!
Entry is £4 per person, £1 of which is donated to the Blue Cross. Arrival 7.15pm for 7.30pm start.

International guitarist Graham Gillot is playing live in the Blue Boar on Friday 14th June, from 9pm. Graham Gillot combines catchy original vocal songs with virtuosic instrumental music, with impressive original songs that define their own music.
Provided to us by the Witney Music Festival, this evening will be an unmissable opportunity to see guitar playing at its finest. Come along for a pint and watch raw talent unfold..

Finally, another bank holiday weekend is upon us at the end of March, and Easter is a perfect time to make the most of some time off and to spend more time with friends and family.
From Friday 29th March to 1st April, we'll be offering Easter food specials, with a delicious traditional Sunday roast on Easter Sunday. Bring the children along for some family time, a hot chocolate and a cake should do the trick!
