Crocodiles of the World

The UK’s only Crocodile Zoo, dedicated to the conservation of many endangered species of crocodile. Visitors will come face-to-face with some of the world’s most feared predators in a fun, safe environment with under-water viewing, talks and feeds. A 6 mile drive from the Blue Boar.

 
 

Oxford paddle gondolas

Paddle gondolas can be hired by the hour and offer a great opportunity to see the countryside while leisurely cruising up the River Thames. Fun for all the family to take turns at peddling and steering while having a picnic or refreshments in the open air. Electric punts are also available.

 
 

Cogges Manor Farm

A 13th century Grade II listed manor house (with daily guided tours) set in 17 acres of grounds and heritage trails. ‘Meet the animals’ sessions allow visitors to pet and feed the goats, sheep, pigs, ducks and chickens. There is also an adventure fort and zip wire for children and a walled garden tended to by volunteers produces vegetables, fruit and herbs, which are served in the on-site café. A 10 minute walk from the Blue Boar hotel.

 
 

The Story Museum – Oxford

The Story Museum is dedicated to books and storytelling. Through interactive exhibitions, performances, events and workshops, the museum is designed to encourage parents, carers and children to spend time together enjoying stories in many different ways. A 14 mile drive from the Blue Boar.

 
 

Didcot Railway Centre

The living museum of the Great Western Railway encompasses 200 years of railway heritage set in 21 acres. Visitors can get up close to steam and diesel locomotives and their carriages, explore engine sheds, signalling boxes, experience turntable demos and book unlimited steam train rides. 20 miles from the Blue Boar.
